The Little Interview - John Jackson from JJ Books / by Harry

The wonderful world of Twitter introduced us to John Jackson. He is the founder and owner of JJ Books, an independent publishing company and also the author of the beautifully illustrated Tales for Great Grandchildren which is now available as a free iPad app. Like us, John is passionate about helping others to express their creativity. He grew up in rural Devon surrounded by animals. We spoke to him about what he was like as a child.

1) Describe you as a child in five words.

Always happy in the sunshine.

2) What is your favourite children’s book?

The Just So Stories by Kipling.

3) What was your favourite toy and why?

A Yo-Yo. I could make it do 'fun' things.

4) If you could be a fictional character from a childrens TV show/film/book for a day who would it be and what would you do?

I would be Huckleberry Finn and go fishing.

5) What inspired you to work within childrens books?

Many years ago, I taught children - 9 and 10 year olds. I enjoyed expanding their minds by taking them into the world of fantasy.
